Ehlers-Danlos Will Not Keep Him From Trying to Win The Voice

by Beatrice Credi

“I would love to have seen the joy in your heart and have seen the hope of the first time in your eyes.” These sweet words were written by Benjamin Arasl, an adolescent in France who, through his song, tells the story of the love that he hoped to be able to experience. Benjamin has a rare genetic disease, Ehlers-Danlos, and his song shares his fear of being rejected because of his illness and the suffering it brings. With the help of his cousin on the video clip and of a friend who has helped with the song composition, Benjamin is determined to get a break in the music entertainment industry. Voice contests, radio and endless hours listening to music, he is preparing for the trials of The Voice Kids, the version of The Voice for super young kids ages 5 -16. Benjamin has to wait until autumn of 2016 for the trials, but in the meantime, he continues to study and write songs.
