  1. Elegia More says:

Sadly, a great deal of information presented in this slideshow is old medical data that is WAY out of whack with today’s medical facts.

POTS has been proven to be caused by antibodies by Vanderbilt and U of Oklahoma, in every single test case. It IS a disease.
POTS does NOT happen to everybody as it is a triggering of an autoimmune disease.

Dr. Burkholder doesn’t even MENTION hyper adrengenic POTS and the severe hypertension and coronary spasms (Kounis Syndrome/prinzmetal angina) caused in many POTS patients. As MCAS (mast cell acvitation disorder) is the main, dangerous affect of POTS with EDS III, not mentioning this is a total failure for this seminar.

Most disappointing is the total lack of facts on why EDS is part of POTS. Dr. Robinson at Vanderbilt has found genetic mututations in EDS that match those causing nitric oxide and blood pressure-related issues – I expected cutting edge information such as this.

Hopefully this helped somebody with EDS and POTS but frankly, everything mentioned was the most basic of information that anybody who has read for an hour about POTs already knows.

Thank you for sharing your time, Dr. Burkholder.

Chronic Pain Partners, how about getting a REAL expert next time?
