About our speaker: Dan Doherty

Dan Doherty has been with Genelex since 2006 working with patients and clinicians to improve medication outcomes with pharmacogenetics and YouScript, an online clinical decision support tool.  TCAPP introduced him to the EDS community in 2012.  He previously worked onsite 24/5 managing the daily routine for residents in a non-profit group home, seeing both the positive and negative impacts of psychiatric medication management on a daily basis.

Company overview:

Genelex’s high complexity CLIA and CAP laboratory, based in downtown Seattle, has more than 25 years of DNA testing experience and in 2000 became one of the first laboratories in the U.S. to provide personalized prescribing testing for pharmacogenetics.  The company’s YouScript clinical decision support tool is the only medication management system that assesses the cumulative effect of a patient’s genetics and entire drug regimen to determine adverse drug event risk and recommend safer alternatives.  Though made for clinicians, YouScript is also available to patients; this allows those with complex medication regimens and multiple prescribing physicians to become their own ‘hub’ for checking potential drug-gene and drug-drug interactions.
